However, according to tests, the old models such as the iPhone 7 Plus are almost the same as the iPhone 8 series when use high-power charger. Is this really the case?

Previously, a test video on youtube showed that the iPhone 7 Plus was charging almost as fast as the iPhone 8 Plus, and it also used Apple’s 29-watt power adapter and USB-C cable. To make the test more fair, the tester used Apple’s iPhone accessories this time, a 29-watt power adapter. The machines tested were the iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone 7 Plus.

In the previous test, the iPhone 8 Plus was charged 45% of the power in 35 minutes, and the iPhone 7 Plus was charged 42% in the same amount of time. However, in the latest test, the iPhone 8 Plus was charged 27% in 15 minutes and 54% in half an hour. The iPhone 7 Plus only charges 15% of electricity in 15 minutes, and 29% in half an hour. Obviously, the previous test data is still relatively large.

According to the test data, the iPhone 7 Plus can charge 1% of electricity in one minute, while the iPhone 8 Plus can charge 1.8%. In other words, using the fast phone charger on the iPhone 8 Plus is indeed much faster than the iPhone 7 Plus.

In the previous test we saw that the iPhone 8 Plus completed 100% charging in 2 hours and 11 minutes, while the iPhone 7 Plus reached 100% in 2 hours. This time, the tester first used up all of their electricity and then charged them. The results show that the iPhone 8 Plus takes 1 hour and 50 minutes to fully charge, while the iPhone 7 Plus takes 2 hours and 32 minutes. Obviously, the iPhone 8 Plus is still charging faster than the iPhone 7 Plus.

Unfortunately, although the iPhone 8 series supports fast charging, Apple does not provide a corresponding charger, and users can purchase a third-party charger to experience the effect of fast charging.
