USB is definitely the most widely used interface in the history of technology, and the latest USB 4 is the biggest change in the history of this interface.

USB4 introduced the lightning protocol specification that Intel previously donated to the USB promotion organization. Two-lane, the transmission bandwidth has doubled to 40Gbps, which is exactly the same as the lightning 3.

Of course, to achieve such a transmission bandwidth, a new and certified data line is required.

While introducing the new underlying protocol, USB4 still maintains good compatibility, and is backward compatible with USB 3.2/3.1/3.0, lightning 3, which is now USB, lightning 3 device and data cable, still available on USB4 interface Used on.

USB4 will only have USB Type-C interface form, and support a variety of data, display protocols, including DisplayPort, can fully utilize high-speed bandwidth, and also support USB PD power supply.

As for when the USB4 device will be available, the USB-IF organization has not given a clear timetable, and obviously has to wait. After all, USB 3.2 (20Gbps) has not matured yet.
